Diabolus, mecum semperterne! consists of an all-star lineup that simply seems too amazing to exist, considering that it showcases four of the art form’s greatest sorcerers: The band features Manes’ ingenious pioneering hero Tor-Helge “Cernunnus” Skei on guitars, bass, and synths; Whoredom Rife’s K. Rambech on vocals; Mare and Djevel’s Spellemann / “Norwegian Grammy”-winning E. Blix on vocals; and, finally, B. Kråbøl of Misotheist, Enevelde, and the family project Kråbøl on drums. The ridiculously versatile and prolific Skei is my most highly recommended composer, while Mr. Blix and K.R remain two of the finest vocalists, and the young Kråbøl has arguably distinguished himself as the most exciting extreme metal talent of his generation — he is a sublime frontman, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter. These luminaries have been praised endlessly by sources like Loudwire, MetalSucks, Metal Injection, and Norway’s Scream.
