Thirteen years ago, when releasing tapes was seen as outdated and somewhat frowned upon, we took a bold step by releasing a tape box set for Rotting Christ’s iconic early recordings. Some said that this move sparked an interest in tape boxsets within the underground scene.
As our first release of 2025, Nuclear Winter Records is excited to present another compilation of works from the legendary Macabre End / God Macabre—one of the pioneering forces in Swedish Death Metal and undeniably one of the darkest bands of its era.
This release comes in the form of a limited 2 x MC Boxset, which includes:
God Macabre formed in the end of the 80’s under the name Macabre End. In 1991 they changed their name to God Macabre and released one song for the Pantalgia compilation and an album through the small German label Mangled Beyond Recognition Records before splitting up.
GOD MACABRE – ‘The Winterlong’ , originally released in 1993
MACABRE END – ‘Consumed by Darkness’, originally released in 1991
