Formed in the early 2000s, MARE have become an enigmatic and highly revered presence in the global underground Black Metal scene. With infrequent live performances and limited, hard-to-obtain releases, the band is regarded by many as one of the few remaining authentic Black Metal acts in an increasingly oversaturated landscape. While some interpret their reclusiveness as a calculated stance, those who have worked closely with the group recognize that it arises simply from their inherent nature. MARE create music purely for themselves and remain resolutely committed to their own artistic path, showing no regard for hype, fashion, trends, or fame. They have boldly designated their work as “Nidrosian Black Sorcerous Art,” a term that aptly defines their identity both on stage and off.
