From the furious chaos of “Despair” and “Funeral of Existence” to the bleak grandeur of “Ephemeral Eternity” and “Aeon’s End”, each track drags the listener deeper into a ritual of misery and transcendence. “Propitious Death” and “The Sentence of Absolution intertwine brutality with ominous atmosphere, while “Life Is a Corpse You Drag” and “Sancta Mendacia” leave no doubt that Mayhem remain unmatched in channeling despair into sound.
